Flowers in the Cincinnati Community

Flowers in the Cincinnati Community

With the People’s Florists, “All the People Poetic Floral Arrangements”

After the busy Valentines Day Holiday, we were finally able to take a breath and get back to flowers in the Cincinnati communities with help from the newest members of our team:

Samahra, Flower Tech, Customer Service and Message Calligraphy

Kolby, Community Outreach Assistant and head of deliveries to Amelia, Ohio

Alana, Social Media Director and head of deliveries to Hamilton, Ohio

Maria, Flower Tech and Bouquet Wrapping Specialist

SKS Tech Solutions– International Directors of SEO, Web Design and Branding

With the help of this team, we are able to continue fulfilling orders and our mission for everyone to be able to experience and to afford the art of floral design. Thank you all for joining.

Back to the Cincy Local Community

After Valentine’s Day, the first thing that we did was replenish the arrangement at Astoria Place nursing home. Since their business is currently under construction, fresh flowers give the space a hope for new beginnings. For this donated arrangement, we used a short cylinder. In it, we placed three stems; 1 white cremone and 2 bicolored carnations with purple linoleum filler.

In true Ikebana stylings, we let a small number of stems resound in their understated beauty. FYI, Astoria Place maybe under new management soon under the name, Maple Grove.

Next, we partnered with TJ’s Barber Shop on Vine St, located just a few blocks down from us and directly in front of Richie’s Chicken and Soul (110 Woolper, Avenue). Since they have a beautiful south facing window, we brought them a dish garden that features four house plant varieties.

On Sunday, we went to water it to find a hidden white lily pushing it way out of the foliage !

As I watered, the stylist and I began to talk about the similarities between taking care of natural hair and taking care of plants.  In-between laughs and simultaneous sprays, we agreed that mindful moisturizing and delicate touch was the key! If you all get a chance, visit TJs to get your hair cut or braided! You won’t be let down. The stylists and barbers are down to earth, articulate and grounded in this community.

To end Black History Month, we were absolutely honored to host a flower arrangement table at The Living Black History program at C.A.N.S Elementary. So many people came to our table and made floral arrangements! It reminded us of our belief that flowers are like people in that they are diverse and most wonderful when arranged together.

We were also so grateful for Kolby because she got to the table on time, set everything up and closed up shop! Her smile and presence is welcoming, friendly and so, so warm. We are lucky to welcome her to the team as our Community Outreach Assistant with emphasis on operations in Amelia, Ohio through Miss Amelias Florals.

This program really lived up to its name, because we live black history everyday when we see people from all races, beliefs, and creeds come together in harmony.

Seeing children run around with and engage with their arrangements brought so much joy to my soul!  This really went to show that flowers are not just for adults, they are for everyone and everyone loves them!

I just keep remembering that the first girl who came to our table got a Stargazer Lily wrapped simply.  She ended up being the program opener, offering an incredible version of Cynthia Erizo’s song “Stand Up” that left no dry eyes in the room!  She is born to be a star, yet humble; just like the flower that she chose! Just re-living this whole experience gives me heart a boost!

We hope to continue to partner with C.A.N.S. and its hard-working PTO in the future for more events! One thing for sure is that we will be selling bouquets for their end of the year theatre show in April! So, stay tuned! Thank you, Mahogany, for inviting us!

Online and Website Sells

In the online world, we fulfilled some very beautiful arrangements on Doordash, including “Pulse” and a “Chocolate Baskets with Mini Arrangement.”

We also did a post-Valentines surprises bouquet for an engaged couple who are separated by many miles; one in the Netherlands, the other in the U.S.! Shout out to SKA solutions for getting our site international visibility!  They were able to squeeze in a Sunday delivery before our 6pm cut-off. Whoop whoop. We really went in on the wrapping since the V-day gift was coming on March 1st. We can’t wait to see you guys get married!

Overall, we loved the business of Valentines, but the slowness, smiles, interaction and togetherness that we get from doing flowers in the Cincinnati Community is unmatched! We love you Clifton and Avondale! Likes the Vines, lets continue to grow together and intertwine for the sake of our children and our children’s children. It is our honor to be The Peoples Florist of Cincinnati! More to come in these upcoming events and services.
